Best part about your area: The best part about our area is that there are so many different types of scenes around here! You can find a good hardcore show, ska show, rap show at any time. You can easily find your place around here.
Is there a good music scene?: There is a very good music scene. Cleveland is the home of rock 'n' roll, as they say.
Who are some local bands in the area?: One of my favorite local bands, Trendy, recently broke up but we have a bunch to make up for that loss. The Promise Hero, Eunuch, Johnny Red and The Skammunists.
Where are the best places to catch a show?: My favorite venue ever is The Grog Shop, it's right in the middle of Coventry which is my favorite area ever. I've been lucky enough to catch Cobra Starship and From First To Last at the Grog and it was just wonderful. The entire bathroom is covered in sharpie graffiti. Another great venue is the Agora, it has a ballroom with a smaller stage and a theater with some arena seating for larger acts. We have a House Of Blues, it's hardly five years old and it brings a lot of great acts.
Top places to eat and what kind of food is served?: On the corner across from the House Of Blues, there's a bowling alley that is just great. I know, bowling alley, sounds pretty skeezy, I almost turned it down. It's a very high end bowling alley, they serve everything from burgers and fries to soups and sandwiches and pasta. They make a bitchin' set of garlic fries. Tommy's of Coventry is another great place to get food. It's pretty much 100% vegetarian and vegan friendly. It's a few doors down from the Grog Shop so if you go early enough before a show you can usually find some of the band members getting their eat on there. They serve some great shakes.
Top places for shopping?: Coventry is my favorite place for shopping, it might be because the closest American Apparel is down there. There's a great novelty store called Big Fun. They have tons of old action figures, novelty books and thousands of other things. Also, in the basement of the beachland ballroom, there's a great vintage type store.
What is there to do in your area for fun?: If you're into getting a little educated, we have amazing art, science and natural history museums. Right between the art museum and natural history museum we have our botanical gardens. The rock and roll hall of fame is great for any music lover. If you're a little low on cash, drive down to Coventry on a nice day and just walk around, grab a slice of pizza, browse some of the shops.
Anything else?: 3OH!3's crowd at Cleveland Warped Tour was maybe one of the most intense I had seen. I saw them twice down in Florida and that was nothing compared to this.
