Too early to start thinking about summer camp.

To me, one of the best things about Warped Tour coming to a close is waiting around to see which bands will be playing the next one. I have been to three Warped Tour's between 2004 and this past summer (my attendance depends on my grades...sometimes they're not that good), and each year the lineup has been loaded with pop-punk acts which really make me question how they could continue to call it a 'punk rock summer camp' each year.

The lineup for 2009 has been posted - and I am thoroughly surprised. Sure, there are still quite a few bands that have made their fame on myspace, but a majority of the lineup is bands who have been ones to shape Warped Tour. Kevin Lyman also cut it back to only one main stage instead of the usual two, to keep ticket prices low and to boost the amount of time these veterans get to play for us all.

Here is the line-up thus far:

3OH!3
A Day to Remember
A Skylit Drive
Alexisonfire
Anti-Flag
Bad Religion
Bayside
Big D and the Kids Table
Black Tide
Bouncing Souls
Breathe Carolina
Brokencyde
Cash Cash
Chiodos
Dance Gavin Dance
Dear and the Headlights
Dirty Heads
Escape the Fate
Every Avenue
Flogging Molly
Gallows
Hit the Lights
I Set My Friends on Fire
Jeffree Star
Less Than Jake
Lights
Meg & Dia
Millionaires
NOFX
Outernational
P.O.S.
Saosin
Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Senses Fail
Shad
Silverstein
Sing it Loud
Streetlight Manifesto
Tat
The A.K.A.s
The Architects
The Ataris
The Devil Wears Prada
The Maine
The White Tie Affair
There For Tomorrow
Therefore I Am
Thrice
TV/TV
Underoath
Valencia
Westbound Train

Okay, but seriously Kevin Lyman? You could bring back the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedy's, what have you, and it still would not make up for the fact that you have allowed Millionaires and Jeffree Star on your lineup.

I HAD to say something about this. 'm going to warped tour for three bands, i think the line up this year is terrible. Millionaires? Jeffree Star? show me some real music not some...i can't even explain it without about a million explicit choice words. Good on them for going out and making their music but...make REAL music sometime. Generic Warped Tour much?

That's pretty much a hugely epic fail.

+1 Anti-Flag
+1 Less Than Jake
+1 The Ataris
...and that's pretty much it. I can only hope they'll be coming to Dallas.

Warped Tour has just been a big bag of fail the past few years. I mean, this past summer I went to see like...3 bands. That's it. Granted one of them was Reel Big Fish so that's like +15. But still.

Disappointment.
