Best of both worlds.

A few weeks ago (and yes, I am late on reporting on this. AKA: I was too lazy), Panic at the Disco 'divorced.' While Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith stick with Panic! At the Disco (they even brought back the exclamation! point), Ryan Ross and Jon Walker have created their own little group called The Young Veins. Recently, both halves have released new songs, and it all boils down to this:

The Young Vein's first released song 'Change' makes it quite obvious that Ross brought in all of the Beatles influence to Panic at the Disco's second album. The song definitely pays homage to classic rock and also possesses a certain folk rock twang to it, complete with organs and a few guitar solos connecting verses and choruses. Fans of Panic's pretty.odd album will certainly love this side of the newly divorced 'family.'

Now that the exclamation point has returned to the band name, Panic! has brought back sounds from the past and released a song that was much closer to A Fever You Can't Sweat Out than any of the songs off their second album. They have gone back to being pop and radio friendly. Even though I was personally a fan of the whole Beatles shtick of the second album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out has also served it's purpose in my life as a guilty pleasure, and I'm also anxious to hear what this side will put out next. Fans who hated pretty.odd will love the revived version of Panic! at the Disco. And if you loved both albums...well now we get the best of both worlds.
