Color is a great thing. Almost a necessity for any outfit, accessory, or anything else. Color, is what first drew me to The Cute Factory. Not only is the myspace page and website for The Cute Factory loaded with color, each piece of jewelry also exhibit’s a rainbow of color that is not only appealing to the eye, but just what the name of the line states: cute.
With charms hailing from a secret location, each piece of kitschy fun is handmade, and all of them are handmade. With all of the different charms on the diy multi charm junk bracelet (my personal favorite) and other earrings and necklaces displaying an array of different charms, there really is something for everyone at TCF. Even for the vintage lovers, there is the vintage Barbie charm necklace, which is a great and rare find. From hair accessories, to any type of jewelry, this place can serve to all of your accessory needs.
Not only is this stuff cuter than hell, it's also affordable. But don't let those foreign dollar signs fool you into thinking that you won't be able to purchase an item from The Cute Factory. This line ships worldwide!
Who is the creator of the Cute Factory, and how did it come about?
Cute Factory was created by an unusual, young British woman when she discovered her cravings for all things kawaii and thought that if she could combine her creative talents with these cravings, she could help bring more cuteness to the planet (okay I'm being silly!) and then take over the world.. la la la *whistles*
How did you get into jewelry making? Did it start out as a hobby?
It did! I have always been into crafts since I was a wee lass. At first I started creating handmade cards and sold them to a local crafts shop, I used to buy magazines for inspiration but then I saw cards combined with bead work that looked fabulous. I asked my mum to buy me some beads and she bought back a mixture of goodies for me (because she had no clue what my taste was, like most mothers!). So she bought back lots including findings for jewellery, I thought I'd give it a go and the rest is history :)
How easy is it for someone from the states or any other countries to order a piece from The Cute Factory?
It's a piece of cake (chocolate icing with sprinkles please?). All you do is add your top picks to the shopping cart and at the check out, select the international shipping option! We try to keep our shipping rates cheap as chips because we want our customers to be happy little bunnies when they recieve their packages filled with delights :)
What kind of person would be one to look at items from TCF?
At the Cute Factory, we try our best to add variety to our collection so that there's something for everyone, but we have a special rule: if it's not cute, we won't stock it! There are some customers who are looking for bold, bright, chunky jewellery to stand out from the crowd. Then there are others who want something more delicate but still very unique and kawaii!
